The Ins and Outs of SQL Indexes

This course will focus on the fundamentals of strategic SQL Server index design and creation. Terms that will be covered and clarified: clustered index, non-clustered index, uniqueness, covering index, fill-factor, scan, seek, key lookup, and fragmentation. This is a beginning level course for those who have always found indexes confusing and somewhat elusive. Lots of valuable information will be provided in a short amount of time.

Mindy Curnutt is an Independent Consultant, 4X Microsoft Data Platform MVP and Idera ACE. She has been actively involved in the SQL Server Community for over nearly 20 years, presenting at local, regional and national events all across North America. For the last five years Mindy has been a key member of the Program Management Team for the SQL PASS Summit. She was a SME for a couple of the SQL 2012 and 2014 Microsoft SQL Server Cert Exams and helped to author the MS Press Book "SQL Server 2014 - Step by Step". This year She co-authored two soon to be released books, "SQL Server 2017 - Inside Out" and "Let Her Finish: Voices from the Data Platform". She is currently serving on the Board for the North Texas SQL Server User's Group and championing the Girls + Data Program in the Dallas area (a program for teens).
